LAKE HUGHES, Los Angeles County — The State Water Resources Control Board’s online regulatory database identifies a Lake Hughes Community Wastewater Treatment Facility at 17201 Elizabeth Lake Road.

The system identifies the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works Sewer Maintenance Division as the facility’s owner and operator and lists Waste Discharge Requirement Order 95-045, effective in April 1995, as active. Older regulatory entries are identified separately as historical.

What the public record tells residents

Regulatory records help identify the agency responsible for wastewater treatment and provide a starting point for checking environmental compliance. However, an active permit entry does not prove the facility’s current treatment capacity, authorize residents to connect to a sewer main or establish the status of every past inspection.

Residents researching wastewater service for a particular property should contact LA County Public Works and request service-area, connection and permit information. For technical regulatory questions, the Regional Water Quality Control Board maintains the permit history and facility tracking record.
