LAKE HUGHES, Los Angeles County — Residents can meet the Antelope Valley West Bookmobile each week at a scheduled stop outside Papa’s Country Store, 17520 Elizabeth Lake Road.
LA County Library’s schedule lists the stop for Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon. The mobile library provides borrowing, catalog assistance, holds pickups and library card registration to residents who may live a long drive from a permanent branch.
Another school-area stop
The mobile library also advertises a Wednesday 9:30–11:30 a.m. stop at HELUS Elementary School, 16633 Elizabeth Lake Road. Because school property may have security or visitor restrictions, residents should confirm whether that stop is open to the general public before visiting a school campus. The Tuesday store stop is a simpler option for many community members.
The county’s 27-foot vehicle is wheelchair accessible and offers access to digital educational resources. Bookmobile stops do not operate on county holidays and may be canceled. Call 661-948-8270 to confirm before making a trip.
